Michael McWilliams' A1 Facelift

The powdered frame. The silver parts. Control pieces. Polished pieces.

Baked fresh daily.

You just gotta love fresh, powder coated parts. Smooth, beautiful, and virtually indestructible. As with other projects, these Spectrum Powder Works coatings are beautiful.

I've been thinking about my last post. Technically, my A1 will not be a true restoration.

Use of powder basically nullifies the word restoration. The Heinkel factory did not use powder. Powder is a better alternative to the original frame paint. The original paint was pretty thin and does not protect the underlying metal very well.

My other deviation from the word restoration is my choice of paint. I chose a two stage paint (base coat, clear coat), instead of the single stage factory paint. So, for the record, this will be a daily rider customization, that is true to the originality.
